With all of our trips, there are a few things that I ALWAYS pack in my Disney park bag! I’m giving you my list (and links!) so you can be prepared for your next trip. I’ll include my top recommendations as well as some others that come in handy if you have the room to bring them too.
The Basics
My go-to bag is a Disney Loungefly backpack because it’s the perfect size and I can match it to my outfit for the day. Crossbody bags and belt bags are also great, convenient options. Keep the bag fairly small and make sure it’s hands-free so you aren’t having to mess with it all day. If you needed a locker, they are located towards the front of each park to rent for the day. Just keep in my mind that this may not always be convenient to get back to during the day. There are three different sized lockers ranging in price from $10 to $15 for the day. Everyone who enters the theme park will need to go through a security screening and there will be a bag check. There is usually a separate (and shorter) line for guests without bags.
If you have little ones in a stroller, you have a bit more flexibility as far as the size goes since you can keep the bag in the stroller compartment. As a reminder, strollers cannot exceed 31 inches in width and 52 inched in length. Stroller wagons are not allowed.
I am by no means a ‘minimalist.’ Sure, you could have a great day at the parks without any of these things. This is totally up to you and your travel party’s preferences so feel free to take what works for you.
Top Items
- MagicBand or Key to the World Card
- This is how you will access the park. There is a new Magic Mobile Pass option through the My Disney Experience app, however, I personally don’t plan on relying solely on this option. Also, make sure you have a Park Pass Reservation ahead of time to get in (click the link if you need to learn how to make one).
- Photo ID
- Cash, Debit or Credit Card, Gift Card, etc.
- Annual Passholder or Disney Vacation Club Card
- To receive exclusive discounts, you will need to show the physical card and (most times) and an ID.
- Cell Phone with the My Disney Experience App downloaded
- Portable Battery Pack and Compatible USB Cord
- Park days can be long and using our phones for photos, videos, checking wait times, and more can run the battery down quickly.
- Reusable Silicone Bags
- Having a couple of these bags with you can come in handy in a variety of situations!
- Pair of Minnie Ears
- Sunglasses
- Hair Elastic
- Liquid I.V. Hydration Packets
- Stay hydrated in the Florida heat with these flavored hydration multiplier packets. You can get a cup of ice water for free or add to a bottle of water and mix it up. You can use my code DEVINEFAIRYTALE at checkout to get a discount and get free shipping.
- Snacks
- I always bring a couple of protein bars or nuts in case I need a quick snack. Always nice to have something on hand in a pinch, especially with kids.
- Handheld Fan
- Hand Sanitizer
- Antibacterial Wipes
- Sunscreen
- Lip Balm
- Gum or Mints
- Disney does not sell gum in their parks, so make sure to bring your own if you’ll want it!
- Pins to Trade
Other Ideas
- Collapsible Cup
- Collapsible Container
- Reusable Straws
- If you hate paper straws, throw in a couple of these!
- Poncho, Rain Jacket, or Umbrella
- Quick Dry Towel
For Kids
- Small Toys and Activities
- Something to play with that will keep them occupied while waiting in lines will be helpful.
- Bubbles or Glow Sticks
- If you think your kids will see the carts with bubble wands and glow toys and want them, it might be smart to save some money and bring your own.
- Change of Clothes
- If they get wet or make a mess, having a backup outfit might be a good idea.
What’s Not Allowed
- Alcohol, Drugs, Weapons. etc.
- Glass Containers (except for baby food jars)
- Loose or Dry Ice
- Horns, Whistles, Other Noise Makers
- Drones
- Remote Control Toys, Skateboards, Skates, Shoes with Built-In Wheels
- Folding Chairs
- Selfie Sticks
- Tripod or Monopod that does not fit in a standard backpack or extends over 6 feet
- Flags or Banners
- Anything you can pull behind you such as a cooler, wagon, etc.
