Tips for Shopping the Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale

I love the bright fun colors and patterns that are synonymous with the Lilly Pulitzer brand. While the items can be a bit pricey, there are typically two times each year that hundreds of their pieces go on sale – some up to 70% off! This sale was previously known as the After Party Sale, but has been renamed the Sunshine Sale in recent years. During these sales, I have been able to grow my Lilly collection with some of my favorite pieces at great prices. The best pieces sell out quickly so read my tips below for a better chance of getting your favorites during the Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale!

How to Shop the Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale

Set up an account on the Lilly Pulitzer website ahead of time and save your payment information so you don’t waste any time doing this at checkout.

There will be a virtual queue for you to join in order to shop the sale. I try to have the site pulled up at least 10 minutes prior to the opening and then refresh right before the start time. If you have multiple devices available to use, it’s helpful to have options to see which one gets you in first. Login to the app on your phone or tablet ahead of time so you’re ready to go!

Once you are in the virtual queue, DON’T refresh or you’ll lose your place.

If there is something you REALLY want, checkout right away. Simply having items in your cart does not guarantee that they will still be there when you go to checkout.

Filter the items by your sizes so that you are only seeing items that will fit.

Remember, all sales are final so you won’t be able to return anything from the sale.

Due to the high volume of orders, sometimes it can take up to 6 weeks to receive your items. I will say, the items I ordered during the last sale (September 2022) were shipped within a few days – I was shocked. Also note, items may come in multiple shipments even if you only placed a single order.

What Items Will Be On Sale

While we don’t know exactly what items will be on sale ahead of time, there are several items I always buy. I typically stock up on basics like the Etta top, Essie tank, Elsa silk top, popovers, and Buttercup shorts. There are usually several dress styles on sale too.

Some items to shop during this upcoming sale:

  • Adalee Shift $59 originally $198
  • Grace Dress $74 originally $258
  • Saige Silk Top $69 originally $188
  • Ferrara Sweater $39 originally $138
  • Caroline Top $54 originally $158

It’s also a great time to stock up on accessories and notebooks too.

Other Sale Tips

Try on several different Lilly Pulitzer items in a store so you know your sizing ahead of time, especially if shopping for Lilly is new to you. Certain styles require sizing up or down depending on the fit. If you can’t make it to a store ahead of time, you can view the sizing guide online.

They will likely be adding new sale items around 8:00 am EST on Thursday January 6th as well. Be sure to check back!

Throughout the year, if there are Lilly items you love but don’t buy, you can save them to their favorites list under your account. Check your list when the sale starts and add anything on sale to your cart right away.

Summer Beauty Essentials

Summer is officially here, which means one thing: it’s time to break out the shorts and sandals. But before you do, there are a few summer beauty essentials you’re going to need to stock up on. The sun is amazing, but you’ll want to take precautions to protect your hair, skin, and eyes – while still enjoying all the amazing things summer has to offer! To help you get ready for summer, I’ve put together a summer beauty essentials checklist that everyone needs to check out.

What are Beauty Essentials?

Summer beauty essentials are products that help you look and feel your best in the summer heat. They can range from sunscreen to self-tanner, and everything in between. So, let’s dive into my favorite summer beauty essentials and beyond!

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is a must during the summer months, especially if you’re spending time outdoors. Look for a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. I also recommend wearing a hat and sunglasses when spending extended periods of time outdoors to protect your face. Be sure to remember to reapply if you’ll be outdoors for awhile!

Block Star by Bliss is my favorite sunscreen for my face. I wear it daily! It is mineral based and blends in easily. It feels great on my skin! If I need some more coverage, my go-to is it Cosmetics CC+ Cream. This is what I wear most days and even stays on well at the theme parks.

Self Tanning Lotion

There’s nothing better than a summer glow, but getting sun can be incredibly damaging to your skin. Using a good self-tanning lotion is the perfect way to get that golden glow without having to worry about the sun. Just make sure to exfoliate your skin before applying the lotion to avoid any streaks or uneven patches.

Isle of Paradise self-tanning drops are great to add to your own moisturizers to help create a natural looking tan.

Moisturizer

The summer heat can be tough on your skin, so it’s important to keep it hydrated. A light, oil-free moisturizer is perfect for summertime. Apply it after you’ve been out in the sun or after cleansing your face to help lock in moisture. Drinking lots of water will also help to keep your skin hydrated all year long.

Bronzer

A good bronzer can take your summer look from drab to fab in no time. It’s the perfect way to add a little color to your face without having to wear foundation. You will want to choose a bronzer that’s a few shades darker than your skin tone to highlight your cheekbones and add that pop of color.

Hair Protectant

If you’re spending time in the sun, it’s important to protect your hair from the damaging UV rays. Look for a hair product that contains SPF or use a leave-in conditioner to help keep your hair hydrated.

If you’ll be in the pool quite a bit, AquaGuard is a must to help protect your hair from all of the chlorine that can cause damage.

I also recommend using a heat protectant if you plan on using any heated styling tools during any time of year.

Sun Recovery Products

After a day in the sun, your skin is going to need some extra TLC. Be on the lookout for products that contain aloe or green tea to help soothe sun-kissed skin. I would also recommend using a hydrating face mask to replenish any lost moisture after sun exposure.

Deep Cleaning Face Wash

A good face wash is essential for summertime. The heat and humidity can cause breakouts, so it’s important to deep clean your skin on a regular basis. Look for a face wash that contains salicylic acid or glycolic acid to help fight blemishes.

Summer is the perfect time to try out new products and experiment with your beauty routine. With this summer beauty essentials guide, you’ll be ready to take on the summer heat! What are some of your favorite summer beauty essentials? Let me know in the comments below!

DIY Facial Astringent for Clear Skin

I have continued to research and try to improve my skin care routine and the products I’ve been using.  An astringent helps to cleanse and shrink your pores.  It helps with oily and acne prone skin.  I decided to customize my own astringent and save some money!  I use this one a cotton pad only at night before going to bed.

This is super simple to make and doesn’t sting like some store-bought cleansers do.  All you need is 100% witch hazel and some essential oils!

You can find witch hazel in pretty much any pharmacy section.  It has a lot of great benefits on its own (tightening skin, fighting bacteria, etc.)

I fill a glass container that has a spout (intended for cooking oils in the kitchen) mostly full of the witch hazel.  Then I add in my essential oils.  You can make so many different combinations with these!  They add extra benefits to the witch hazel and make it smell great.

I chose to use Frankincense, Purification, and Valor.  I added about 10 drops of each into the bottle.  Then I just put the cap on the spout and turn it upside down and back, gently, several times to mix it up.

Frankincense is great to use on skin.  It helps to make your skin look more radiant and smooth.  Purification is an oil blend that soothes your skin.  Valor is also a blend and creates a feeling of refreshment and calming.

Some other great oils you can use with the witch hazel are lavender, tee tree, rose, chamomile, and myrrh.

It’s that easy! Plus, the glass bottle looks pretty on the counter 🙂

How to Wear a Scarf: 6 Different Ways

Pink scarf flat lay

Scarf weather is almost here!

I wanted to share with you 6 different ways to wear 1 scarf so you can get even more wear out of it.

The first way is the traditional way, wrapped around the neck with the ends hanging down in front.

The second is the loop.  Fold the scarf in half behind the neck and pull the ends through the loop.

The third way is a simple knot made in the front.

For the fourth, I made a regular scarf an infinity scarf by knotting the ends together behind the neck.

Then the fifth way is done by keeping the scarf as an infinity scarf and doubling it up.

The last way, I tied a bow on the side.

How do you wear your scarves?  I love new ideas!  Post yours in the comments 🙂

Create Your Own Arm Party or Bracelet Stack!

Photo of Bracelets on Stand to create Bracelet Stacks

What is a Bracelet Stack?

Bracelet stacks, or arm parties, are such a fun trend! Are you a fan? I know I am. A bracelet stack is a curated mix of bracelets worn all on one wrist, each stacked on top of another.

How to Create Your Own Bracelet Stack

So, how do you make your own arm party? This post will help you get started to create a signature style that’s all your own.

It’s really pretty simple. I have some bracelets that I wear pretty much every day. Then I mix in others that coordinate with my outfit for that day. I have some gold and some silver bracelets too, depending on what works with my look. I typically wear one or the other, but you can definitely mix the two together. Some are thin and dainty while others are large and make a statement. It’s all about creating a balance that works for you.

Mix and Match Bracelet Stack for Arm Party

Bracelet Inspiration

Some of my favorite bracelet brands:  Bourbon & Boweties, Kate Spade, Stella & Dot, Alex and Ani, and Erimish.

Eventually you will build your bracelet collection and be able to mix and match to make so many fun stacks! I really love to collect bracelets from places we’ve traveled or that have a significance. I think your arm party is even better if your bracelets can tell a story. How special is that?

How to Organize Your Bracelets

I store my most worn bracelets on a simple bracelet bar on a shelf in my dressing room. This makes it easy to see them and grab them while I’m getting ready to start my day. I keep the larger, bulkier bracelets in a drawer in my jewelry armoire.

If you’re going bold and making a statement with your bracelets, I suggest keeping your other jewelry pieces simple.

Are you on board? Show me your arm parties! Do you have any other brands I should check out?  I’d love to hear them!
