Whether you are researching theme parks in Georgia, looking for a Valdosta GA water park, or searching for helpful Wild Adventures tips before your visit, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to plan a memorable day.
Visit Valdosta invited me to spend the weekend exploring their charming city and experience Wild Adventures in Valdosta firsthand. It ended up being one of the highlights of the trip.

Getting to Wild Adventures in Valdosta
Wild Adventures is located at 3766 Old Clyattville Road in Valdosta, Georgia, just four miles off Exit 13 on I-75. The park is easy to reach from several nearby cities, making it a convenient day trip or weekend getaway destination.
Driving distances include:
- Tallahassee to Valdosta: about 1.5 hours
- Jacksonville to Valdosta: about 2 hours
- Atlanta to Valdosta: about 3.5 hours
Because of its location right off I-75, Wild Adventures is a popular stop for travelers heading through South Georgia.
If you are visiting from Tallahassee, it is an easy drive that makes for a perfect quick getaway.
What Makes Wild Adventures in Valdosta So Unique
One of the things that makes Wild Adventures in Valdosta stand out among other theme parks in Georgia is the variety of experiences packed into one destination.
Instead of focusing only on rides, the park combines thrilling attractions, zoo style animal exhibits, and a full water park. All of these experiences are included with regular Wild Adventures tickets, which makes the park feel like a great value compared to other amusement parks.
You might spend the morning riding roller coasters, take a break in the afternoon at the water park, and then watch an animal presentation before heading home. That variety keeps the day interesting for every age and interest level.
Planning Ahead and Buying Wild Adventures Tickets
Purchasing your Wild Adventures tickets online before you visit is one of the easiest ways to save time and money. Ticket prices can be lower online than at the gate, allowing you to head straight inside once you arrive.
If you want to explore the park at a relaxed pace, the two day ticket option is worth considering. Having more time makes it easier to enjoy both the rides and Splash Island without feeling rushed.
Season passes are also popular with families in the region. In addition to unlimited visits, passholders often receive perks like free parking, discounts, and access to special concerts and seasonal events throughout the year.
Checking the official Wild Adventures website before your trip can help you find promotions or seasonal ticket deals that make your visit even more affordable.
Parking at Wild Adventures
Parking at Wild Adventures is simple and convenient. When you arrive, you will pass through the parking terminals to purchase your parking pass before entering the lot.
The parking area is large and located close to the main entrance. The walk into the park is relatively short compared to many larger theme parks.
The Best Time to Visit Wild Adventures
Timing your visit can make a big difference in your experience. One of my top Wild Adventures tips is to visit on a weekday if possible. Crowds tend to be lighter and wait times for rides are usually shorter.
If you are visiting during the summer, arriving early in the morning is also helpful. You can ride some of the most popular attractions before the afternoon heat arrives and then cool off later at the water park.

Wild Adventures in Valdosta also hosts several seasonal festivals throughout the year. These can add an extra layer of fun to your visit.
During the fall, Great Pumpkin LumiNights transforms the park into a glowing autumn celebration filled with pumpkin displays, festive entertainment, and family friendly activities. You will see towering jack-o-lantern sculptures and beautiful illuminated sunflower displays that make the park feel completely different after dark.
When the holidays arrive, Wild Adventures Christmas fills the park with twinkling lights, seasonal music, and festive entertainment. One of the highlights is a floating lake spectacular where thousands of lights reflect across the water while holiday music plays.

Wild Adventures Rides and Attractions
Of course, rides are still a big part of the experience at Wild Adventures in Valdosta. The park has a mix of thrilling roller coasters and family friendly attractions that make it fun for visitors of all ages.
Thrill seekers will want to check out rides like Twisted Typhoon and Swamp Thing, which feature dramatic drops, loops, and twists that deliver plenty of adrenaline.

Families with younger children should head toward the Discovery Outpost area of the park. This section has several rides and attractions located close together and is designed especially for little ones.

One attraction that everyone should experience is the Safari Train. This relaxing train ride takes guests through areas where you can see animals such as giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and antelope.
It is a peaceful break from the excitement of the rides and gives you a completely different perspective of the park.

Animal Encounters at Wild Adventures
Another highlight of Wild Adventures in Valdosta is the opportunity to interact with animals. The park is home to more than 200 species, including giraffes, lemurs, and tigers.
Guests can watch animal demonstrations and educational presentations throughout the day. One of the most memorable experiences is giraffe feeding, where you can get surprisingly close to these gentle animals.

For families with younger children, the animal exhibits add an educational element that makes the park feel more like a zoo and theme park combined.

Shows and Live Entertainment
In addition to rides and animals, Wild Adventures also offers live entertainment throughout the park.
Animal presentations are especially popular and give visitors the chance to learn more about different species from the park’s trainers. These shows highlight the intelligence and agility of animals like alligators and birds of prey.
Before your visit, download the Wild Adventures app so you can check showtimes and plan your day around the presentations you want to see.

Dining at Wild Adventures
After a few hours of rides and walking around the park, you will definitely work up an appetite.
Wild Adventures offers a variety of dining options throughout the park, including classic theme park favorites like burgers, pizza, and fries. You will also find sweet treats such as funnel cakes and ice cream if you need a quick sugar boost.
Lighter options are available as well, including grilled items and salads.
One of my favorite Wild Adventures tips is to bring a refillable water bottle, especially during the warmer months. Staying hydrated will make your day much more comfortable.

Splash Island Water Park
One of the biggest highlights of the park is Splash Island, the 27 acre Valdosta GA water park located inside Wild Adventures. Even better, access to Splash Island is included with regular Wild Adventures tickets, so you do not need a separate admission.

The water park features a wave pool, a relaxing lazy river, and several towering water slides. There are also splash zones designed for younger children, which makes it a great place for families to cool off together.
Many visitors like to head to Splash Island in the afternoon when the heat is at its peak. If you want a more relaxing place to recharge, cabanas are available to rent.
What to Bring to Wild Adventures in Valdosta
A little preparation goes a long way when visiting Wild Adventures.
You’ll be doing a lot of walking at Wild Adventures, so it’s important to wear comfortable shoes. Secure footwear is especially helpful if you plan to ride the more intense roller coasters.
It is also a good ide to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. The weather in Valdosta can be hot and sunny, so it’s important to protect yourself from the sun. A refillable water bottle and portable fan can make a big difference during the summer months.
If you plan to spend some time at Splash Island Water Park, you’ll want to pack bathing suits, towels, and a change of dry clothes. Water shoes are a good idea for walking around on the hot walkways. You might also want to consider some of my water park essentials if you’ll be spending a full day there!
Wild Adventures has FuelRod kiosks throughout the park, so if you already have one, you’re in luck! These are portable chargers that, after you buy your first one, you can swap out for a new, fully charged one at no cost. They have these at Disney and they are so convenient!
I packed my crossbody belt bag similarly to how I pack my Disney park bag, so check out that post if you need some more ideas.
Helpful Wild Adventures Tips for Your Visit

Be sure to check the park hours for the dates you’re interested in and choose the ticket option that suits your needs. Remember, purchasing your tickets online in advance can also save you some money!
Download the Wild Adventures app on your smartphone. You’ll be able to save rides, attractions, and more to your favorites and start planning out your day. Take a peek at the times for any of the animal encounters you’re interested in so you don’t miss them. I highly recommend one of the giraffe feedings!
Lockers are available if you plan to bring items for the water park and do not want to carry them around all day.
It is also important to take breaks throughout the day. Spending a little time in the shade or relaxing between attractions will help everyone stay energized.
Families visiting with younger children may want to bring a stroller, since the park covers a large area and little legs can get tired quickly.

New Campground at Wild Adventures
