About Valdosta, Georgia

Located in Southern Georgia, Valdosta is a charming city known for its rich history and welcoming community. Valdosta offers a small-town atmosphere with all of the amenities and attractions of a larger city. The city is also home to Valdosta State University and a thriving downtown area.
Getting to Valdosta
Valdosta is conveniently located off of Interstate 75, making it easily accessible by car. Driving from Atlanta, you can take Interstate 75 South, which is the most direct route and takes approximately three hours. If you’re traveling from other nearby cities, like Tallahassee or Jacksonville, you can take Interstate 10 or US Highway 84 to get to Valdosta. The drive from Tallahassee to Valdosta is about an hour and a half.

Wild Adventures
If you’re an adventure seeker or traveling with family, Wild Adventures theme park and Splash Island water park are must-visit destinations. Wild Adventures offers thrilling rides, captivating shows, and a wide range of exotic animals. From roller coasters to water slides and animal encounters, Wild Adventures promises a day filled with excitement and entertainment.


Downtown Social


Downtown Social is a boutique bowling and entertainment spot located downtown. The venue features bowling lanes, sports suites, shuffleboard, darts, VR pinball, and a full bar and restaurant. It’s a great place to go for a night out with friends or family. The bowling lanes are perfect for a competitive game, the sports suites are perfect for a private party, and the other games are perfect for a fun night of socializing. They also have a Sunday Brunch which we really enjoyed during our visit!


Shop Downtown
Downtown Valdosta is a shopper’s paradise with a variety of unique boutiques and local stores to explore. Take a leisurely stroll down the tree-lined streets and discover hidden gems that capture the essence of Valdosta’s culture.

Grandy Bay Wildlife Management Area

Nature enthusiasts will appreciate a visit to the Grand Bay Wildlife Management Area. Located just a 15 minute drive from downtown, this wildlife refuge allows visitors to explore scenic trails, observe native wildlife, and enjoy peaceful moments in nature. Whether you prefer birdwatching, hiking, or photography, the Grand Bay Wildlife Management Area provides a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle.


Valdosta Wake Compound
Valdosta Wake Compound is a wakeboard and wakeskate park. The park is open year-round and offers a variety of features for riders of all levels. The full cable system is the first in the country to contain a “natural” pool gap. Everything on the full cable is designed and built with a “safety-first” mentality. Whether you are a beginner or expert rider, a wakeskater, or wakeboarder, the full cable features are designed for everyone.

306 North is a blend of Southern elegance in a casual upscale environment. The menu features locally sourced ingredients including fresh produce, cheeses, and farm-raised meats. They take southern classics and put their own twist on them. There is a little outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice.

Georgia Beer Co.

Beer enthusiasts shouldn’t miss a visit to Georgia Beer Co. This local brewery and taproom is known for its handcrafted beers. Learn about their beer-making process and sample their diverse selection of brews. The Georgia Beer Company brews a wide variety of beers, including ales, stouts, and IPAs. They also use as many Georgia-grown ingredients as possible. The atmosphere is fun and they have a great outdoor space.

Be sure to make a stop at The Southern Cellar. They offer an extensive collection of wines from around the world. They have a number of flights available so you can try a few different wines.
