If you have ever walked into a Buff City Soap store and immediately felt like your whole day got better, you already know what I am talking about. The second you step through the door, the scent hits you in the best possible way and suddenly you need approximately everything. I was lucky enough to have a Buff City Soap location right here in Tallahassee for a while, and even though that store has since closed, my love for this brand has not gone anywhere. Everything is available to order online now, and honestly, that might be even more dangerous for my budget.
Whether you are discovering Buff City Soap for the first time or you are already a fan looking for your next obsession, here is everything I love about this brand, the products I keep repurchasing, my favorite scents, and a few things worth knowing before you place your first order.

As a former brand ambassador, some products mentioned were gifted to me. All opinions are my own.
What Makes Buff City Soap Worth the Hype
Buff City Soap has been making plant-based, handcrafted products since 2013, and the whole concept started because the founders were frustrated with commercial soaps full of harsh chemicals, detergents, and animal fats. Everything is plant-based and free of ingredients you cannot pronounce, and at their physical locations called Soap Makeries, products are made fresh in store daily.
That freshness factor is something you actually notice. There is a texture and quality to Buff City Soap products that feels genuinely different from what you find at a big box store, and when you can customize your scent at a Makery in person, it becomes even more personal. The online shop carries a wide selection in their most popular scents, so you can get the full experience even without a location nearby.

My Favorite Buff City Soap Products
The Buff City Soap product range is much wider than most people expect. Yes, there are soap bars, but there is also laundry soap, body scrubs, bath bombs, foaming hand soap, body butter, candles, and a newer line of home cleaning products. Here is what I keep coming back to.
Buff City Soap Laundry Soap
This was my gateway product and it remains a staple in our home. The plant-based formula is free of harsh chemicals and my clothes and blankets smell incredible after washing. I used to stock up whenever Buff City Soap ran a laundry sale at the Tallahassee location, and now I just order online instead. If you have never tried a natural laundry soap that actually works, start here.
Epsom Salt Soak
After a long week or a tough workout, this is exactly what I reach for. Adding it to a hot bath is one of those small rituals that makes a regular Tuesday feel like self-care, and the lavender scent is my personal favorite. It also makes a great gift, especially paired with one of the Buff City Soap bars.
Body Scrub
The sugar scrub is everything. What made it extra fun in store was being able to customize the scent combination myself, mixing a couple of my favorites into something fruity and a little sweet. You can shop their available scents online and find one you love, but if you ever make it to a Soap Makery in person, the custom scrub experience is worth doing.
Soap Whip
This is one of those Buff City Soap products that sounds simple but becomes oddly satisfying once you try it. It has a light, fluffy texture that works up into a rich lather and leaves skin feeling soft. It cleans and moisturizes at the same time, which I appreciate on any morning when I want to simplify my routine.
Foaming Hand Soap
We have these at every sink in our house and I genuinely do not want to go back to regular hand soap. The foam lather is great, they look adorable on the counter, and switching up scents seasonally is an easy way to make your home smell amazing without any effort.
Bath Bombs
The Buff City Soap bath bombs are handmade with cocoa butter and come in a huge range of scents. They are a perfect gift at an accessible price point, and if you are putting together a little gift basket, a bath bomb or two alongside a soap bar and an epsom salt soak makes for a really thoughtful, affordable set.

My Favorite Buff City Soap Scents
Honestly, I have not found a Buff City Soap scent I actively dislike, which says a lot about the quality of what they are working with. That said, a few have earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
Narcissist is their number one seller and I completely understand why. Notes of patchouli, sandalwood, raspberry, and peach make it warm and slightly sophisticated without being heavy. It is the kind of scent that gets a ton of compliments.
99 Pomlems is bright and citrusy with lemon, pomegranate, and cream. It is cheerful and clean and perfect for warmer months.
Aloe + Clover has notes of wisteria, green tea, rose, and lemon. If you have ever stayed at the Grand Floridian at Walt Disney World, this Buff City Soap scent will feel very familiar since the lobby scent is similar, which makes it a fun little piece of the magic you can bring home.
Magnolia rounds out my favorites with magnolia flower, apple, blackberry, and melon. It is floral but fresh and works beautifully in basically any product in the lineup.

How to Shop Buff City Soap Online
Everything is available at buffcitysoap.com, and the site is easy to navigate by product category or scent. Buff City Soap offers flat rate shipping and free shipping when you hit the order minimum, so it is worth grouping a few things together on your order.
If you want to visit a Soap Makery to customize scents in person, you can check the store locator for the nearest location. There are Buff City Soap stores throughout Florida and across the country, and the in-person experience is something I would always recommend if you have the chance.

Buff City Soap Makes a Great Gift
If you are shopping for someone and want to give something that feels thoughtful and a little luxurious without breaking the bank, Buff City Soap checks every box.
They have sets already bundled on the site, or you can build your own combination around someone’s favorite scents. A soap bar, a bath bomb, and a foaming hand soap in a coordinating scent is one of my go-to combinations whenever I need a gift that feels personal and put-together without a lot of effort.
The self-care category is one place Buff City Soap consistently delivers, and it is why I keep recommending it to friends and gifting it throughout the year.

A Brand That Has Genuinely Earned My Loyalty
The Tallahassee location closing was genuinely sad, because there is something special about shopping in person, watching products get made, and smelling everything before you commit. But the fact that I still order Buff City Soap regularly online says everything about the quality of the products themselves. They deliver on what they promise, the scents hold beautifully, and the plant-based formulas actually work.
If you have been curious and have not tried Buff City Soap yet, the online shop makes it easy to start with a couple of items and see what you love. I would recommend beginning with the laundry soap and a soap bar in Narcissist, and go from there. Your bathroom and your laundry room will both thank you.
