I flew into Long Beach Airport for my first Disneyland trip, and its smaller size made it easy to get off the plane, collect our luggage, and get on the road without spending another hour navigating the airport. LGB also offers a relatively short drive to Anaheim and a much simpler arrival than you may expect in Southern California.
Long Beach will not be the best choice for every traveler. Its limited route map means your home airport, schedule, and airfare may make the decision for you. If the flights work, though, LGB can be one of the easiest airports to use for a Disneyland vacation.

Drive times can change significantly with traffic, so I would not choose an airport based on mileage alone. Compare your complete travel day, including the flight schedule, connections, baggage fees, ground transportation, and the time it may take to leave the airport.
What is Flying Into Long Beach for Disneyland Like?
The biggest advantage of Long Beach Airport is its size. LGB is compact and easy to navigate, with a much shorter walk between the gates, baggage claim, and ground transportation than you will have at LAX. That matters after a long flight, especially when you are traveling with children, a stroller, or several suitcases.
The airport also has an open-air design in portions of the terminal. Depending on your flight and gate, you may board or exit the plane using outdoor ramps rather than a traditional enclosed jet bridge. It gives the airport a different feel from a large hub and makes the arrival process memorable without adding extra work.
Baggage claim and transportation pickup are close to the terminal. Rideshare vehicles use the outer curb in front of the terminal, taxis wait nearby, and rental car offices are across the street in the Ground Transportation Center. Burbank might also be worth checking in some situations. It can work well if your trip includes attractions in Los Angeles before or after Disneyland. It would not be my first choice for a Disneyland-only vacation, but it can be an option in order to solve a schedule or pricing problem.
