How to Choose Between Pumpkin Patches Near Tallahassee

Not all pumpkin patches are the same, and knowing what to expect can help you decide where to go. Some are perfect for a quick stop to pick out pumpkins, while others have enough activities to keep your family entertained for hours.

Church pumpkin patches are some of the easiest options around Tallahassee. Most offer free admission, with pumpkins available to purchase in different shapes, sizes, and colors. They’re great for grabbing a few pumpkins for your porch, taking fall photos, or stopping by after work.

Local farms offer more of a fall outing, with activities like corn mazes, hayrides, farm animals, and seasonal treats. Most charge admission or activity fees, so check what’s included before visiting. If you’re hoping to pick a pumpkin directly from the vine, Moccasin Grove is one of the local options to consider.

Local Pumpkin Patches in Tallahassee for a Quick Fall Stop

When you want pumpkins without a road trip, the church patches and garden centers around town are your best bet. Most turn a stretch of lawn or sidewalk into rows of pumpkins, gourds, and hay bales, and they stay open into the evening, which makes them easy to fit into a busy week.

Faith Presbyterian Pumpkin Patch on North Meridian

  • Address: 2200 N. Meridian Road, Tallahassee, FL 32303

Faith Presbyterian is one of Tallahassee’s most recognizable pumpkin patches, with the lawn along North Meridian Road covered in pumpkins every October. The 2026 pumpkin patch is open October 8 through 31, with pumpkins available in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors. Fresh pumpkin deliveries typically arrive on the first three Wednesdays in October.

The church also hosts Spooky Movies in the Patch every Friday evening at 7 PM. Bring your own lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy a movie surrounded by pumpkins. There are also plenty of photo opportunities, and proceeds from pumpkin sales support the church’s children and youth ministries.

If you’re hoping for the best pumpkin selection, try visiting shortly after a delivery. Faith is also close to Midtown restaurants and coffee shops, making it easy to turn your pumpkin shopping into a fun afternoon around Tallahassee.

Tallahassee Heights United Methodist on Mahan Drive

  • 2026 Dates: October 1–31

The patch at Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church on Mahan Drive opens October 1 and keeps generous hours, from dawn until 8 PM every day through the end of the month. Admission is free, which makes it an easy after-work stop when you need porch pumpkins before the weekend.

Saturdays bring the extra fun. Every Saturday in October from 10 AM to 3 PM, the church hosts Saturdays in the Patch with kids’ activities, so plan your visit then if you’re bringing little ones who would rather do something than stand still for photos.

Christ Presbyterian on Bannerman Road

  • Special Event: Fall Festival, October 10, 11 AM–2 PM

For the north side of town, Christ Presbyterian on Bannerman Road is a handy pick. The front yard becomes a pumpkin patch from September 28 through October 31, making it one of the earliest patches in town to open each year.

Mark your calendar for October 10, when the church hosts a free Fall Festival from 11 AM to 2 PM. It’s a simple way to pair pumpkin shopping with a little festival fun without leaving town.

Gray Memorial United Methodist on Old Bainbridge Road

Proceeds from pumpkin sales have supported local and international missions, and the church has also hosted a fall festival with family-friendly activities.

2026 Update: I haven’t been able to confirm whether Gray Memorial will be hosting its pumpkin patch this year. I’ll update this section as soon as more information is available. In the meantime, I recommend checking directly with the church before planning a visit.

It’s an easy place to pick up a few things for your front porch while browsing the garden center.

Tallahassee Nurseries is also hosting its annual Spooky Sips event on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM. This after-hours party features live music from Double Play, tarot readings, local vendors, food trucks, frozen slushies, and exclusive sales throughout the garden center. You’ll find plenty of food options during the daytime festival, along with pumpkins, mums, corn stalks, and other seasonal decorations available to purchase. The drive from Tallahassee is about 45 minutes, making this a fun option when you want to spend several hours enjoying fall activities.

Admission is $12 per person, and children 2 and under get in free. You can visit the petting zoo, feed Joe the camel, and enjoy the farm’s outdoor activities. Pony rides are available for an additional fee, and local food trucks and vendors are part of the fall festivities.

For 2026, Fifth Day Farm is also open on Friday evenings throughout October from 4 PM to 7:30 PM. It’s another option if you’d rather plan a fall outing after work or school instead of spending part of your weekend at the farm.

There are several special events on the calendar, too. October 17 and 18 feature a Touch-A-Tractor event with Kubota tractors and other equipment that kids can explore up close. Food trucks and vendors vary by weekend, so check Fifth Day Farm’s Facebook page for the latest lineup before visiting.

If you’re making the drive from Tallahassee, consider pairing your farm visit with lunch or shopping in Downtown Valdosta. It’s a nice way to spend a little more time exploring South Georgia before heading home.

If you’re heading to Fifth Day Farm in Valdosta, consider stopping at Fancy Girl Farms in nearby Hahira while you’re in the area. This beautiful property has a restaurant, café, garden center, and several outdoor spaces to explore. It’s a fun place to grab lunch, browse the garden center, or enjoy a coffee before heading back to Tallahassee.

The grounds are made for lingering. A quarter-mile walking trail loops between the gathering spaces, 46 raised garden beds change with the seasons, and there are swings, cornhole, and Connect Four scattered around, with a firepit that comes to life once the weather cools. The garden center is open Tuesday through Sunday and closed on Mondays. Check their seasonal offerings before visiting if you’re specifically looking for pumpkins or fall activities.

Pair Your Pumpkin Patch Day With a Fall Festival

Pumpkin patches aren’t the only way to celebrate fall around Tallahassee. Several local festivals offer pumpkin decorating, seasonal activities, and plenty of reasons to get outside during October.

Havana PumpkinFest returns for its 26th year on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10 AM to 4 PM. The festival was originally scheduled for October 10 but has been rescheduled. Downtown Havana will be filled with more than 100 vendors, food, live entertainment, pumpkin painting, children’s activities, a costume contest, and a pumpkin pie-eating contest. Admission is listed at $6 for ages 13 and older, with children 12 and under admitted free. Check Havana Main Street for the latest event updates before attending.

Closer to home, the Killearn Estates Fall Festival at Shannon Lakes Park has paired a free pumpkin patch with food and live music in mid-October, and Maclay Gardens hosts its Scarecrows in the Garden display all month long. Pumpkin season also overlaps with plenty of other fall festivals in Tallahassee, from the Greek Food Festival to Zoobilee at the Tallahassee Museum, which means you can build a whole month of fun weekends without much effort.

Tips for Visiting Pumpkin Patches Near Tallahassee

A little planning can make your pumpkin patch visit much more enjoyable, especially when October still feels like summer in North Florida.

October in North Florida can still feel like summer by noon. Farms are most comfortable in the first couple of hours after opening, and late afternoon brings golden light for photos. Bring water, sunscreen, and a hat, and save the flannel for the rare cool morning.

Wear closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting dusty. Farm fields are uneven, and corn mazes can be sandy or muddy depending on recent rain. Cash is handy too, since some patches prefer it and card payments can come with a small fee.

Check each patch’s Facebook or Instagram the morning you go. Hours change with weather and pumpkin supply, and a rainy forecast can close a smaller farm for the day. Selection is best in the first half of October, so if you have your heart set on a giant carving pumpkin or a pile of white heirlooms, don’t wait until the last weekend.

Hold off on carving. Florida humidity is rough on jack-o’-lanterns, and a carved pumpkin can start to soften in just a few days. Decorate whole pumpkins with paint or a little ribbon for most of October, then carve the weekend before Halloween.

Keep an eye on the FSU football home schedule, too. Traffic around town changes completely on game days, so a home game Saturday is a good time to head out to a farm early or save your pumpkin outing for Sunday.
