Disney’s Pop Century Resort isn’t just a place to stay – it’s a full-fledged celebration of 20th-century American pop culture, transporting you through each decade with vibrant colors, iconic imagery, and a healthy dose of Disney magic. Where is Pop Century Resort Located?
Disney’s Pop Century Resort is located in the Wide World of Sports area of Walt Disney World Florida. The resort is situated between the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Hourglass Lake. Just steps away, you’ll find the Pop Century’s sister resort, Disney’s Art of Animation.

Pop Century Resort Rooms
Standard rooms offer a comfortable queen bed and a unique “queen-size table bed” that cleverly transforms into a second sleeping space, perfect for families or groups of friends. When the table bed is put away, there’s a lot more space available to move around. A few rooms with a single King bed are available but this is not something that can be selected when booking.
The rooms are designed to maximize space and functionality. The bathroom features a sink area that can be closed off with a sliding door.
There is a separate area with the shower and toilet and it’s own regular door.
There is a dresser under the TV as well as another area with a beverage cooler, coffee maker, and some shelving. Other room amenities include a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and in-room safe.
If you have a preference for a specific building, you can call in a request ahead of time. While not guaranteed, mentioning your preference during booking or checking in can increase your chances of getting your top choice.
There are four different room types available: Standard Rooms, Preferred Rooms, Pool View Rooms, and Preferred Pool View Rooms. Preferred Rooms are closer to the Classic Hall, dining, shopping, and transportation.
The Pop Century preferred rooms are located in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s buildings.

Dining at Pop Century Resort
The resort features a quick-service dining location, Everything POP Shopping & Dining. Here, guests can savor a variety of delicious options ranging from hearty meals to tasty snacks. The food court reflects the resort’s theme with its vibrant colors and playful decor. Everything POP serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
For those looking to unwind with a drink, the Petals Pool Bar is a great spot to enjoy a refreshing beverage by the Hippy Dippy Pool. The poolside bar provides a laid-back atmosphere where guests can relax after a day of exploring the parks.
Pop Century Resort Amenities
As a value resort, Disney’s Pop Century offers budget-conscious guests an opportunity to stay on Disney property without compromising on the enchanting experience. While the amenities may not be as extensive as those at deluxe resorts, the value for money is undeniable.
Speaking of pools, Pop Century boasts three distinct pools, each with its own unique theme. The Hippy Dippy Pool, located in the 1960s area, features flower-shaped water jets. This pool features family-friendly activities each day, like themed pool games, relays, trivia, and more. The Bowling Pool in the 1950s section is shaped like a bowling pin and the Computer Pool, representing the 1990s, is adorned with a gigantic floppy disk and a stylized computer keyboard.
Families with little ones will appreciate the kiddie pool behind the Hippy Dippy Pool!
No need to bring your own towels, you can use the complimentary towels set up near each pool area.
Beyond the pools, guests can enjoy a variety of recreational activities, including jogging trails, a playground, 24-hour self-service laundry rooms (most accept credit and debit cards), and an arcade.
Pop Century Transportation Options
Getting around is a breeze at Pop Century. The complimentary Disney transportation whisks you away to all the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs with ease.
Bus transportation is available to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, water parks, and Disney Springs.
You can take the Skyliner to both Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. You’ll have to get off at the Caribbean Beach stop and then select the gondolas for whichever park you’re headed to. If there is inclement weather, alternate bus transportation will be provided to and from these theme parks.
Tips for Staying at Pop Century Resort
- Book early: Pop Century is a popular resort, especially during peak seasons and holidays. Booking your stay well in advance ensures you get your preferred room and avoids missing out altogether.
- Take advantage of the Skyliner. The Skyliner is a gondola system that connects Pop Century to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. It’s a great way to avoid the crowds on the buses and get some amazing views of the parks.
- Explore other resorts. Take a walk over to Art of Animation or check out other resorts that are on the Skyliner route, like Caribbean Beach and Riviera. Get a change of scenery or grab a bite to eat!
- Buy refillable mugs. You can purchase resort refillable mugs at the Everything POP that you can use to get free refills on fountain drinks, coffee, and juice throughout your stay. You will save money during your vacation if you purchase these beverages regularly.
- Mobile Order: To save time and make dining experiences more convenient, use the My Disney Experience app for mobile ordering at Everything POP Shopping & Dining. This feature allows guests to place their food orders in advance and pick them up at a designated time, minimizing wait times.
Is Pop Century the right resort for you?
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly Disney experience that’s bursting with personality and nostalgia, then Pop Century is definitely worth considering. It’s my go-to value resort for myself and my clients.
However, if you crave luxury accommodations or prefer a quieter atmosphere, you might want to look at other options. The resort can get crowded, especially during peak seasons and the amenities are basic.
