Welcome to the McKey Hotel, a hidden gem right in the heart of Valdosta, Georgia, where modern comfort meets Southern charm. This boutique hotel is all about luxurious accommodations, top-notch amenities, and service.
I was invited by Visit Valdosta to come and experience a weekend in their beautiful city and stay at The McKey Hotel.

A Warm Welcome to the McKey Hotel Valdosta
As soon as you step inside the McKey Hotel, you’re welcomed with a blend of rich history and cozy hospitality. The hotel itself is housed in a beautifully renovated historic building, offering a unique and luxurious experience that feels like stepping into a piece of Valdosta’s past—with all the modern comforts you’d expect.

There are 12 guest rooms, each with its own unique personality and story. The rooms are all decorated in a modern style, but they also feature nods to the building’s history like the original hardwood floors in some rooms. There is also an event space that can be booked.

One thing I really appreciated was how easy check-in was. The McKey Hotel has a completely contactless check-in process. They’ll email you a code for both the main building and your room, so you can arrive at your own pace—no waiting around at a front desk. Super convenient!
The hotel is located at 101 East Central Avenue, Valdosta, Georgia 31601. Parking is available streetside or in multiple public parking lots nearby.
Luxurious Accommodations
The McKey Hotel certainly knows how to make a guest feel pampered. Our stay was truly an indulgence as the accommodations were luxurious, elegant, and inviting. Every element of the decor was chosen with the purpose of creating an atmosphere of comfort and peace.

We stayed in room 1806 which featured a King bed, seating area, and large bathroom. It is located on the fourth floor and named in honor of the year the first agricultural pecan tree was planted in Lowndes County, Georgia. The room was gorgeous—spacious, bright, and thoughtfully designed. The huge windows overlooked the Lowndes County Courthouse, giving us a stunning view and plenty of natural light throughout the day.

The king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable, and let me tell you, we slept so well during our stay. The room also had a cozy seating area and a large, modern bathroom stocked with high-end toiletries. Every little detail in the room—from the décor to the amenities—felt like it was curated to make our stay as comfortable and special as possible.

Amenities offered by the McKey Hotel
Speaking of amenities, the McKey Hotel goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need during your stay. Along with complimentary Wi-Fi, the room came equipped with a sound machine (which I loved for falling asleep!), and a thoughtful kit with essentials like toothbrushes, makeup wipes, and more.

There’s even a coffee station and microwave right down the hall—perfect for when you need a caffeine boost or to heat up a snack.

Even though the McKey Hotel is in a historic building, it’s fully equipped with modern conveniences like an elevator—no need to haul your luggage up the stairs, which is always a plus.

Exploring Valdosta’s Attractions from a Convenient Location
One of the best parts about staying at the McKey Hotel is its location. You’re right in the heart of Downtown Valdosta, which means you’re just steps away from some of the city’s best attractions. Whether you’re into history, art, or just want to explore local shops and restaurants, Downtown Valdosta has something for everyone.

During our stay, we loved being able to walk around and take in the historic landmarks and vibrant cultural scene. There’s always something going on, whether it’s a museum exhibit, an outdoor concert, or just a quiet café to enjoy a cup of coffee. We had such a fun time exploring the area.
