The Island in Pigeon Forge is a 23-acre entertainment complex located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. It is home to a variety of shops, restaurants, attractions, and events. With so much to see and do, make sure you check out my top 3 things to do at The Island Pigeon Forge.
The Island is open year-round and is a popular destination for families and friends of all ages. Located just a short drive from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, it is also close to other popular attractions in Pigeon Forge, such as Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, and the Titanic Museum. There is something for everyone at The Island, whether you are looking for shopping, dining, attractions, or entertainment.

Top 3 Attractions at The Island in Pigeon Forge
We visited The Island on our first night in Pigeon Forge. It was so much fun and we could have definitely spent more time checking out everything there is to see and do. Be sure to prioritize these three activities since they were our favorites!
SkyFly: Soar America



SkyFly: Soar America is a new flying theater attraction at The Island in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The ride utilizes a state-of-the-art ride system to give guests the feeling of flight as they soar over some of the most iconic locations in the United States. If you have visited Epcot and rode on Soarin’, the ride set up is very similar but a bit more dynamic.
The ride begins with guests entering a pre-show area where they are greeted by a cast of characters who will prepare them for their journey. Guests then board a flight pod and are lifted up into the air. Once they are in position, the ride begins and guests are transported on a breathtaking aerial adventure.
During the ride, guests will soar over some of the most famous landmarks in the United States, including the Grand Canyon, the Statue of Liberty, and the Golden Gate Bridge. They will also experience the sights, sounds, and smells of these locations as if they were really there.



SkyFly: Soar America is a truly unique and unforgettable experience. It is a must-do for anyone visiting The Island in Pigeon Forge.
Adult tickets are $22.99 + tax, kids 11 and under are $17.99 + tax. Riders must be at least 40″ tall. There is a viewing room available as an alternative to the motion ride.



SkyFly Soar America is open Sunday – Thursday from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM as well as Friday & Saturday from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM.
The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel



If you’re looking to get a bird’s-eye view of the stunning Great Smoky Mountains, look no further than The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel at The Island in Pigeon Forge. This 200-foot-tall observation wheel is one of the must-see attractions in Tennessee, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel features 42 climate-controlled gondolas, each with comfortable seating for up to eight passengers. As you ascend to the top, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Smokies and the Pigeon Forge skyline. On a clear day, you can see for miles, taking in the beauty of the natural landscape and man-made attractions alike.
No matter how you choose to experience it, The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is a must-visit attraction for anyone traveling to Pigeon Forge. Adult tickets are $16.99 + tax and kids ages 3-11 are $13.99 + tax. The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is also included in the list of rides for the Unlimited Rides wristband.
Watch The Island Show Fountain at Night



The nighttime fountain show at The Island in Pigeon Forge is a must-see for any visitor to the area. The show features a spectacular display of water, light, and music that is sure to amaze and delight audiences of all ages.
The show takes place in the center of The Island, in the large fountain that is located in front of the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. The fountain itself is quite impressive, with over 89 water jets that can shoot water up to 60 feet into the air. The show also features a variety of lights, which are used to create a stunning visual effect.
The show is choreographed to a variety of popular music, and the water jets and lights are synchronized to the music to create a truly mesmerizing experience. The show is approximately 15 minutes long, and it is performed every 30 minutes on the top of each hour and the half hour.

- The Island Trading Post: This store has a wide variety of souvenirs, t-shirts, jewelry, candy, toys, sauces, and just about anything else imaginable. Lots to see in here!
- Farmhouse Décor & Gifts: This store specializes in beautiful home décor, including signs made of reclaimed wood, pottery, magnets, linens, candles, and much more. We found some cute gifts to bring home here!
- Puzzled: Puzzled is one of the South’s largest puzzle stores featuring jigsaw puzzles, 3D and 4D puzzles, Scramble Squares, Rubik’s rotational puzzles, brain teasers, children’s puzzles, and more. Take your pick from over 10,000 unique puzzle toys!
- Savannah Bee Company: Check out the honey-tasting bar full of unique flavors of honey and treats at Savannah Bee Company. They also have bath and body products and other bee-related products to purchase.
Dining
With over a dozen dining options, there is something for everyone at The Island. Whether you are in the mood for a quick snack or a sit-down meal, you are sure to find something to satisfy your appetite. Here are just a few of the dining options available at The Island:






- Margaritaville: It’s 5 o’clock somewhere! This popular restaurant is known for its tropical drinks and island-inspired food is a great option for lunch or dinner.
- Timberwood Grill: This restaurant offers a variety of steaks, seafood, and other grilled dishes. This is where we ate and really enjoyed it!
- Mellow Mushroom: This pizza joint is a great place to go for a casual meal with friends.
- The Fudgery: This candy shop offers many different fudge flavors, as well as other treats like caramel apples and taffy.
- The Island Creamery: This ice cream shop offers a variety of flavors, as well as toppings like whipped cream, sprinkles, and chocolate sauce.






These are just a few of the many dining options available at The Island in Pigeon Forge. With so many choices to choose from, you’re sure to find the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal.
Attractions



The Island is also home to a variety of other attractions, including The Escape Game, an interactive escape room experience, and Gatlin’s Mirror Maze, one of the largest in the country at 3,000 square feet. For the thrill seekers, Island Ropes Course offers aerial adventure with 30 different elements, 2 ziplines, and one simulated free fall.






There are many fun rides for kids too like The Flying Horse Carousel, Lil’ Ribbits, Spinning Parrots Coaster, and more!
Tickets and Wristbands
The Island in Pigeon Forge offers a convenient package that includes all of the outdoor rides for one low price. The Unlimited Rides Wristband is a 48-hour unlimited wristband that allows you to ride everything included as many times as you want for two days of family-fun at The Island! You can also upgrade to include a one-time admission to the Island Ropes Course and Quick Jump for just $10. There is also pricing available for individual rides as well.



Parking
Parking for The Island in Pigeon Forge is free in the designated parking lots. The main parking lot is located in between The Island and the LeConte Events Center. There are complimentary trams available from the lot to the front of The Island and run during The Island’s operating hours.
