The first time I stayed here, I could not believe how simple everything was. No shuttle, no driving in the dark, no rush hour stress on the morning of a flight. You walk out of the lobby, hop on the escalator, and you are basically at security. For anyone who has ever sprinted through MCO with a roller bag, that level of calm is worth a lot.

The lobby and most of the hotel sit landside (before security), which means anyone can access it whether you are flying or not.

You can see the airline ticket counters and security checkpoint right from the hotel lobby. That is genuinely how close you are. The lobby is on the 4th floor, and you reach it by taking the escalator or elevator up from the center of the main terminal near the departure boards.

The hotel is also a quick drive from Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, and the Orange County Convention Center. It is not a hotel I would recommend as a home base for a full theme park vacation since you would lose time driving back and forth, but for a one-night transition stay before or after a trip, it works beautifully.

A Look Inside the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport

For an Orlando airport hotel, the Hyatt Regency feels much more polished than you might expect. The interior atrium has soft water features, garden-style sitting areas, and a calm, hushed energy that almost makes you forget you are sitting on top of one of the busiest airports in the country.

The hotel has 445 newly remodeled rooms, two restaurants, a lobby bar, a rooftop pool, and a 24-hour fitness center. It feels like a full Hyatt Regency property, not a stripped-down crash pad, which is part of why it has become such a favorite for travelers heading to Disney, Universal, or a cruise port.

Check In at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport

Check in is simple and stress-free, which is exactly what you want after a long travel day. The front desk is right at the top of the escalator on the 4th floor, and the team is consistently warm and efficient.

If you are part of World of Hyatt, definitely have your number on file. The Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is a Category 4 property, so points redemptions are reasonable, and member perks like room upgrades, late checkout, and food and beverage credits can stack up nicely.

Standard check in is 4:00 PM and checkout is 12:00 PM. If you are arriving late or leaving very early, the front desk can usually help you flex around those windows.

Rooms at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport

The rooms are easily the part of the stay that surprised me the most. They are spacious, modern, and clearly thought through for travelers who actually need to function the next day.

We stayed in a King room on the 6th floor with a small balcony, and it was the perfect setup. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom had a smart double-vanity layout, and there was plenty of counter and closet space to spread out without feeling like we were living out of our suitcases. There was also a small seating area and desk, which made it easy to answer a few emails before bed without feeling cramped.

A few of the room details worth knowing:

• Rooms are newly remodeled and soundproofed, so noise from the terminal or runways is minimal
• 65-inch flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi
• Coffee station and mini fridge
• Runway-view rooms or terminal-atrium-view rooms, depending on availability
• Balcony access is locked for safety, but you still get the views from the room

If you are a light sleeper, request a runway-view room with the door kept closed. The soundproofing is genuinely good. If you want the fun “I am sleeping inside an airport” experience, ask for an atrium view so you can watch the terminal below.

Hyatt Orlando Airport Parking

Parking is one of the most-asked questions about staying at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport, especially for cruise travelers or anyone leaving their car behind for several days.

Guests have two main options: self-parking or valet. Both come with a discounted overnight guest rate, but the discount only applies for the nights of your hotel stay. If you are planning to leave your car at the airport longer than that, you will want to look at the Park Stay and Go Packages.

For valet, follow the signs to Terminal B and turn onto Jeff Fuqua Boulevard to reach the hotel entrance.

For self-parking, follow signs to the Terminal B Self-Parking Garage and head to Terminal Top Level 4. Lanes and turns at MCO happen fast, so give yourself a little extra patience the first time. Pull a ticket on entry and stop by the front desk for an in-and-out access pass, which is also how you receive the discounted nightly rate.

McCoy’s Bar and Grill

McCoy’s is the everyday option, located on the lobby level. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a genuinely eclectic menu that ranges from sushi to pizza to a hot honey chicken club that I still think about. The focus is on fresh ingredients with a globally inspired menu, and there is a kids’ menu for families.

We had two meals at McCoy’s and loved both. The vibe is relaxed and easy, the service is quick, and the sushi bar is a fun touch you do not expect at an airport hotel. It is also where you will find communal tables if you want to sit and have a glass of wine before your flight.

Hemisphere Restaurant

Hemisphere is the upscale option, located on the 9th floor with floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the runway. The menu is seasonal, locally sourced, and leans into modern world cuisine, with hand-cut steaks, fresh seafood, sushi, and an impressive wine list.

If you are staying the night before a special occasion, a honeymoon, or a big trip, Hemisphere is the move. Watching planes land at night while you have dinner is genuinely beautiful, and the food more than holds its own. Hemisphere is typically open for dinner and special events, so check current hours when you book.

The Lobby Bar and McCoy’s To-Go

The Lobby Bar is open through midnight and serves small plates and cocktails with a fun, energetic vibe. If you want a quick drink before a red-eye or a way to decompress after landing, it is perfect.

For anything outside restaurant hours, McCoy’s To-Go is available from 7:00 AM until midnight. The in-room dining menu runs 24 hours and includes sandwiches, salads, full entrees, and sushi, so a late-night arrival never has to mean vending machine snacks.

Amenities at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport

You do not have to sacrifice your fitness routine just because you are staying in an airport. Flying out of MCO when you are already at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is honestly the closest thing to magic in the world of air travel. On our last early flight, we drove down the night before, had a relaxed dinner, slept in a comfortable bed, and walked downstairs the next morning straight to security. We were at our gate with coffee in hand before most people had even arrived at the airport.

The hotel can help with bag delivery from baggage claim to your room (for a fee), and also help send your bags down to airline check in the morning of your flight if you would rather skip the lugging. For anyone with mobility concerns, kids, or just a lot of luggage, that service is a game changer.

The return is just as good. After a long day of travel, you grab your bags, take the escalator up to the hotel, and you are in bed within minutes. No driving home tired, no late-night Uber, no fighting traffic on I-4.

Disney Cruise Line and Cruise Travel from MCO

If you are flying into Orlando the day before a cruise, this hotel is one of the easiest options out there. Port Canaveral is about an hour from the airport, and the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is a popular choice for cruise travelers because it removes one full leg of stress from your travel day.

Disney Cruise Line offers ground transportation from MCO to Port Canaveral on embarkation days, and you can either book it directly through Disney or coordinate through the hotel. The hotel can also help you store luggage, arrange your shuttle, and handle the morning rush so you can focus on the actual fun part of your trip.

Getting to the Hotel From Baggage Claim

MCO can feel a little chaotic after a long flight, so here is the easy version.

When you land, take the tram from your gate to the main terminal. From baggage claim, head up one level to the central area between Terminals A and B. You will see the Hyatt towering above you on every side. There is an escalator and an elevator in the center of the terminal that take you up to the 4th floor lobby. Signs throughout baggage claim point you toward the hotel, so it is harder to miss than it sounds.

If you are exhausted and do not want to deal with luggage at all, call the hotel from baggage claim and they can arrange to pick your bags up and bring them up to your room for a fee.

Who the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is Perfect For

This hotel makes the most sense in a few very specific situations:

• Early morning flights out of MCO when you are coming from out of town
• Late arrivals when you do not want to drive to your Disney or Universal hotel, exhausted
• Cruise travelers heading to Port Canaveral the next morning
• Anyone with a long layover who wants a real room for a few hours
• Travelers flying with pets, kids, or a lot of luggage who want the simplest possible travel day

It is not the right pick for a full theme park vacation, since you will be driving 20 to 30 minutes to the parks every day. But as a one-night bookend on either side of your trip, it is one of the smartest travel decisions you can make.

Is the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport Worth It?

Yes, with a few caveats. The Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport is not the cheapest hotel near MCO, and you are paying a premium for the in-terminal location. But for the right trip, that premium is more than worth it.
