From iconic Dole Whips to delectable signature dishes at fine-dining restaurants, there’s something for everyone. Navigating all those dining options can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to budgeting. That’s where the Disney Dining Plan comes in!

This prepaid meal plan allows you to take the guesswork out of dining costs at Walt Disney World. In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about the Disney Dining Plan, including its different options, costs, and whether it’s the right fit for you.

What is the Disney Dining Plan?
The Disney Dining Plan is available to guests as a vacation package add-on for prepaid meal credits. These meal credits allow guests to enjoy a variety of dining and snacking experiences throughout the duration of their stay at Walt Disney World. As a way for Disney to enhance the overall vacation experience, offering a dining plan can allow guests to get an all-inclusive feel while giving them the ultimate flexibility and a convenient way to budget for meals.

Disney Dining Plan Options
Guests will have two dining plans to choose from, which simplifies the decision for families. These two plans are the Disney Dining Plan (Table Service Plan) and the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan.
- Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan: This plan is perfect for those who want a more casual dining experience. You’ll receive two quick-service meals, one refillable resort mug (great for soda, juice, or coffee throughout your stay), and one snack per person, per night of your stay.
- Disney Dining Plan: This plan offers a mix of quick-service and table-service meals, providing more flexibility for those who want to experience both casual and sit-down dining. You’ll receive one quick-service meal, one table-service meal, one refillable resort mug, and one snack per person, per night of your stay.

Disney Dining Plan 2024 Prices
Keep in mind that prices are subject to change, but as of May 2024, here’s a general idea of the cost:
- Disney Dining Plan: $94.28 per adult (ages 10 and up) per day and $29.69 per child (ages 3 to 9) per day
- Quick Service Dining Plan: $57.01 per adult (ages 10 and up) per day and $23.83 per child (ages 3 to 9) per day

Is the Disney Dining Plan Worth It?
Whether the Disney Dining Plan is worth it for you depends on your dining habits and budget. Here are some things to consider:
- Do you like to eat out a lot? If you plan on eating multiple meals and snacks per day at Disney World, the dining plan can be a convenient way to manage your food budget.
- Do you prefer table-service dining? If you want to experience the full range of Disney’s signature restaurants, the Disney Dining Plan (with table-service meals) might be a good option.
- Are you a picky eater? The dining plan offers some flexibility with snack choices, but meals (especially table-service) often have specific menus. If you are a picky eater, you might not get full value out of the plan.
Here’s a tip: Look at sample menus online for quick-service and table-service restaurants to get an idea of the variety and portion sizes. This can help you decide if the dining plan aligns with your preferences.

Free Dining Offers
Occasionally, Disney World offers promotions that include free dining plans when you book a vacation package. These offers are highly sought after and can provide significant savings. These promotions usually have specific booking windows and travel dates, so early planning is essential. When available, the free dining offer can make the Disney Dining Plan a great option!

important Information About the Disney Dining Plan
It’s important to note that you can only add the Disney Dining Plan to your vacation if you are staying on property. Dining plans can only be added to a Disney Resort hotel stay and ticket package. Disney Annual Pass Holders and DVC members also have the option to book a Disney Resort Hotel stay and add a dining plan.
To add one of the dining plans to your Disney vacation package, everyone booked in the same room as part of the same vacation package must have it. The dining plan cannot be split up amongst your group.
Some signature restaurants may require two meal credits. This is important when budgeting your dining credits.
The dining credits are granted based on the number of nights within a reservation and expire at midnight on the reservation checkout date.

Tips for Using the Disney Dining Plan
- Make Reservations Early: Popular restaurants, especially table-service ones, book up quickly. If you know you want to experience a specific restaurant, make reservations as soon as possible.
- Download the My Disney Experience App: This handy app allows you to manage your dining reservations, view menus, mobile order, and track your dining credits.
- Consider Splitting Entrees: Portions at Disney restaurants can be generous. Sharing an entree, especially at table-service locations, can help you stretch your dining credits further.
- Don’t Forget the Snacks: The included snacks are a great way to cool down on a hot Florida day or grab a quick pick-me-up. Don’t waste snack credits on inexpensive items like bottled water. Explore all the delicious snack options!
- Budget for Tips: Gratuities are not included in the Disney Dining Plan, so factor in additional costs for tipping your servers at table service locations.
- Character Meals: These meals offer great value, especially for families. They are often buffet-style or prix fixe and provide the opportunity to meet characters without waiting in line.
- Signature Dining: Some table-service restaurants, known as Signature Dining locations, require two dining credits. These are typically high-end restaurants offering gourmet meals, so use these for special occasions.
- Use Refillable Mugs: The refillable drink mug included with the dining plan can be used at any Disney Resort hotel’s self-service beverage stations. This can save you money on drinks throughout your stay.
- Track Your Credits: Use the My Disney Experience app to keep track of your remaining dining credits. This helps you manage your meals and avoid any unused credits at the end of your trip.

The Disney Dining Plan can add a lot of value and convenience to your Walt Disney World vacation. By understanding the different plan options, keeping up with 2024 prices, looking out for free dining offers, and following some strategic tips, you can ensure that you get the most out of your dining experience. Whether it’s savoring gourmet meals or enjoying a quick bite between attractions, the Disney Dining Plan can enhance your trip.
