Spring Tallahassee Festivals (March–May)

Spring in Tallahassee is when the city truly comes alive. The weather is perfect, the flowers are blooming, and the festival scene is buzzing with energy.

First up is Springtime Tallahassee, the ultimate kickoff to festival season. This weekend-long event is packed with a Friday night concert downtown, followed by Saturday’s huge parade, tons of local vendors, and live performances. If you love a small-town feel with big-city fun, this one is a must. The parade itself is a colorful celebration of Florida history, with themed floats, costumed performers, and marching bands that line the streets of downtown.

Tallahassee Festivals Chain of Parks Festival

Art lovers should check out the LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival. It happens every April and turns downtown Tallahassee into an outdoor gallery. You can wander through booths from more than 170 artists, catch live music, and enjoy food trucks under the oak trees. It’s consistently ranked as one of the top fine art festivals in the country and offers something for every art enthusiast.

Tallahassee Festivals Word of South Festival

Another favorite is the Word of South Festival, a unique combo of books and music. It takes place at Cascades Park and features everything from author talks to jazz concerts. It’s perfect for a laid-back weekend with a little culture and creativity. Kids can enjoy storytelling sessions and hands-on activities, while adults sip wine and enjoy the literary-meets-musical vibe.

Spring also brings the popular Cleaver & Cork culinary series. This foodie favorite includes chef-led dinners, wine pairings, and tastings, culminating in a grand tasting event with gourmet bites, cooking demos, and plenty of sips and samples.

Summer Tallahassee Festivals (June–August)

Summer in Tallahassee is hot, but the festivals are even hotter. Things slow down a little, but there’s still plenty to enjoy.

One of the highlights is the Swamp Stomp Music Festival at the Tallahassee Museum. It usually happens in July and features local bands, food, and good vibes. Think picnic blankets, dancing under the trees, and chilled drinks. It’s the kind of event where you can sit back and relax or get up and dance barefoot in the grass.

The Downtown Market stays active all summer long. Every Saturday, you can browse handmade goods, grab fresh produce, and enjoy live entertainment. It’s a great way to support local and spend a relaxing morning. The vibe is easy and breezy, just like summer should be.

And let’s not forget the Tallahassee Beer Festival in August. It’s a dream for craft beer lovers, with more than 100 breweries offering samples of their best brews. There are also games, food vendors, and live music to keep the party going. It’s a great way to cool off and discover new favorite sips.

Tallahassee Festivals North Florida Fair

Fall Tallahassee Festivals (September–November)

Fall in Tallahassee is when things really start picking up again. The cooler weather makes it the perfect time to enjoy outdoor events.

One of the most popular events is the Greek Food Festival. Held in October, this festival is a foodie’s dream. We’re talking gyros, baklava, and traditional dancing all hosted by the Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church. It’s a delicious way to experience a slice of Greek culture right here in Tallahassee.

A long-standing tradition, the North Florida Fair takes place each November and offers classic fair fun with a local twist. From thrilling rides and livestock shows to concerts and fried treats, this festival draws families from all over the region and stands out among Tallahassee events.

If you’re into wine and gourmet food, the Tallahassee Wine & Food Festival in November is a must. It includes tastings, chef demos, and special dinners that all benefit a good cause. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or love a good bite, this event delivers.

And for something a little different, don’t miss the Red Hills Horse Trials. It technically lands in early spring, but it deserves a mention here because it’s such a big deal. Held at Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park, it’s an international equestrian event that draws a big crowd. You can enjoy cross-country riding, show jumping, and dressage in a stunning natural setting.

Winter Tallahassee Festivals (December–February)

Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean the fun stops. In fact, some of the coziest, most festive events happen during these months.

The Winter Festival in early December is like stepping into a holiday movie. There are twinkling lights, live performances, food vendors, and even a Jingle Bell Run. It’s perfect for getting into the holiday spirit with your whole family. Downtown becomes a glowing wonderland, and the festive cheer is absolutely contagious.

Another highlight is Market Days at the North Florida Fairgrounds. This early December event brings in artists and crafters from all over the Southeast. It’s the perfect place to knock out your holiday shopping. From handmade jewelry to holiday decor, you’ll find one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list.
