Located right on the monorail loop, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa transforms its already stunning Victorian style lobby into a springtime showpiece filled with handcrafted chocolate Easter eggs, pastel florals, and a festive pop up bakery that rivals the famous holiday gingerbread house. Whether you are staying at the resort, resort hopping, or just looking for something fun to do outside the parks, celebrating Easter at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is magical.

What Makes Easter at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort So Special

Disney does holidays incredibly well, but Easter at the Grand Floridian feels particularly charming. The resort leans into elegance and artistry, creating displays that feel more like an exhibit than simple decorations. Everything is thoughtfully designed, from the color palette to the tiny details hidden throughout the chocolate eggs.

What makes this experience extra special is that it is accessible to everyone. You do not need a park ticket, special event ticket, or even a hotel reservation to enjoy it. You can simply stop by, take in the displays, grab a treat, and enjoy the atmosphere. It is one of my favorite ways to slow down and really soak in the seasonal magic.

Grand Floridian Easter Eggs and Chocolate Displays

The heart of Easter at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is the breathtaking chocolate egg display located right in the main lobby. Each year, Disney’s pastry team creates a collection of oversized Easter eggs and chocolate sculptures that are completely handcrafted and incredibly detailed.

These are not simple chocolate shells. Each egg tells a story through texture, color, and design. You will often see Disney characters, iconic scenes, spring florals, and even resort-inspired elements woven into the displays. Some eggs feature hand piped designs, others include sculpted figures, and many hide tiny Mickey details that make exploring the display interactive.

One of my favorite parts is how close you can get. You can really appreciate the craftsmanship up close, noticing the brush strokes of edible paint, the layering of chocolate, and the delicate sugar work. It is one of those experiences where you keep spotting new details the longer you look.

The displays are updated each year, which makes visiting during Easter something you can enjoy again and again without it feeling repetitive. Even if you have seen them in the past, it is always worth another visit.

When to See the Grand Floridian Easter Egg Displays

The Easter egg displays typically appear a few weeks before Easter and remain on display through Easter Sunday, sometimes lingering just a bit longer depending on the year. Because Easter dates change annually, the exact timing can vary, but mid to late March through Easter weekend is usually a safe window.

If Easter falls later in the spring, you may see the displays closer to April. Checking Disney calendars or planning with a travel advisor can help you time your visit perfectly if seeing the eggs is high on your priority list.

Visiting The Grand Cottage at Disney’s Grand Floridian

No Easter visit to the Grand Floridian is complete without a stop at The Grand Cottage. This seasonal pop up bakery appears in the lobby and feels very similar to the gingerbread house during the holidays, just with a bright spring twist.

The Grand Cottage offers a rotating menu of Easter themed sweets and baked goods that are as beautiful as they are delicious. Everything is thoughtfully themed, making it very hard to choose just one item.

While the menu can change slightly each year, you can usually expect a mix of classic Easter flavors and playful Disney inspired treats. Favorites often include the Bunny Burrow Dirt Cup with layers of chocolate cake and brownie crumble, traditional hot cross buns with warm spices, and bright citrus desserts like lemon blueberry whoopie pies that feel perfect for spring.

There is also typically a box of pastel macarons that makes an excellent souvenir or gift. They are delicate, elegant, and feel very on brand for the Grand Floridian.

The Grand Cottage is usually open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM during the Easter season. Lines can get long, especially in the afternoons and evenings, so visiting earlier in the day or later at night tends to be a little easier.

Tips for Visiting During Easter at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Visiting the Grand Floridian during Easter is easy, but a little planning goes a long way in making the experience stress free and enjoyable.

  • Enjoy the Easter egg display: This stunning display is free to view for anyone, even if you’re not staying at the Grand Floridian resort.
  • Arrive early: If you want to avoid crowds, especially for viewing the Easter egg displays or visiting The Grand Cottage, plan to arrive early in the day. The Grand Cottage is typically open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily throughout the Easter season. Be prepared for potential lines, especially during peak hours.
  • Enjoy Brunch: Make a dining reservation at the Grand Floridian Cafe to enjoy brunch when you’re visiting the resort. It’s delicious! You’ll also be able to park at the resort with a dining reservation.
  • Consider alternative transportation: Parking at the resort can be limited, especially during peak times and holidays. Taking the monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) is a convenient and scenic option.

Other Easter Experiences at Walt Disney World

While the Grand Floridian is the standout for Easter displays, it is not the only place celebrating around Walt Disney World.

EPCOT hosts the Egg stravaganza scavenger hunt during the spring festival season. Guests can purchase a map and hunt for character themed eggs hidden throughout World Showcase. Matching the stickers on your map to the corresponding characters is the key to collecting your prize. It is a fun, interactive activity that works well for kids and adults alike.

Several other resorts also feature Easter egg displays, including Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. These displays are smaller than the Grand Floridian’s, but still beautifully done and worth a visit if you enjoy seasonal decor.

During Easter week, guests can also meet Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny at Magic Kingdom, usually near Liberty Square. It is a sweet seasonal meet and greet and a great photo opportunity if you are visiting with kids. Mr. Easter Bunny may also make surprise appearances at Disney resorts close to Easter, so keep an eye out!

Planning a Spring Disney Trip Around Easter

If you are thinking about visiting Walt Disney World in the spring, Easter season is a wonderful time to go. The weather is usually pleasant, resorts feel fresh and colorful, and seasonal offerings like the Grand Floridian Easter eggs and EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival add an extra layer of magic.

This is also where having a solid plan matters. Easter can be a busy time at Walt Disney World, especially around the holiday weekend. Knowing when to visit resorts, when to schedule park days, and when to slow things down can make a huge difference in how enjoyable your trip feels.

If you want help planning a spring Disney vacation that balances park time with special experiences like Easter at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, that is exactly what I love helping with. Thoughtful planning lets you enjoy these little moments without stress, and those are often the memories that end up being your favorites.
