Our stay was hosted by Visit Amelia Island and the Amelia Island Williams House but all opinions are my own.

The History of Amelia Island Williams House
The story of the Amelia Island Williams House begins in 1856, when prominent banker and businessman Marcellus A. Williams built the home. The home is a beautiful example of antebellum architecture, with detailed woodwork, stained glass windows, and wide verandas that reflect the craftsmanship of the era.
Over time, the home evolved from a private residence into a favorite Amelia Island bed and breakfast. The inn is thoughtfully preserved to honor its history while still offering modern comforts. You can feel the stories of the past here, paired with the little luxuries that make a stay memorable.

An Amelia Island Bed and Breakfast in a Prime Location
One of the biggest draws of the Amelia Island Williams House, especially for first-time visitors, is its location. Situated on a quiet, tree-lined street in Fernandina Beach’s historic district, this Amelia Island bed and breakfast is within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and attractions.

What It’s Like Staying at a Historic Amelia Island Bed and Breakfast
Staying at the Amelia Island Williams House is more than just booking a room; it’s about immersing yourself in a story. From the moment you walk through the front door, you’re greeted by warm wood floors and antique furnishings.
The inn features ten uniquely designed guest rooms spread across three buildings, each with its own story. The inn offers everything from elegant suites in the main house to more private options in the Carriage House. No two rooms are exactly alike, which adds to the charm and makes repeat visits feel fresh.
Whether you choose the Princess Amelia suite in the main house with its four-poster bed and fireplace or the privacy of the Island Getaway room in the Carriage House, you’ll find a perfect blend of comfort and style.
While historic details shine throughout the property, the inn seamlessly incorporates modern amenities. Private bathrooms, Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs, plush bedding, and cozy bathrobes ensure comfort without taking away from the character. Many rooms also include balconies or patios, perfect for morning coffee or unwinding in the evening.

Comfort and Hospitality at the Amelia Island Williams House
What truly sets the Amelia Island Williams House apart is the level of care shown to every guest. The innkeepers and staff go out of their way to make you feel genuinely welcomed. Check-in includes thoughtful touches like warm cookies and refreshing beverages, which instantly make you feel at home.

Breakfast at the Amelia Island Williams House
Beyond the beautiful rooms and location, breakfast is one of the highlights at this Amelia Island bed and breakfast.
Each morning, the inn serves a beautifully prepared two course breakfast made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Menu items may include banana French toast with maple syrup, overnight oats topped with fresh fruit, and other rotating seasonal dishes. Overall, there’s a great balance of sweet and lighter options, and everything feels thoughtfully prepared rather than rushed.

The inn offers breakfast at two seating times, 8:30 am and 10:00 am, giving guests flexibility in their morning plans. We opted for the earlier seating so we could get an early start exploring Amelia Island, and it was the perfect way to ease into the morning.

The culinary experience is one of the highlights of staying at this Amelia Island bed and breakfast, leaving guests looking forward to each morning.

A Romantic Escape for Two on Amelia Island

Couples often choose this Amelia Island bed and breakfast to celebrate anniversaries, honeymoons, and other special moments. The innkeepers also offer romance-focused packages that may include champagne, chocolates, rose petals, or help arranging dinner reservations nearby.
As a result, it’s the kind of place where evenings feel cozy, mornings feel unhurried, and the little moments become the most memorable part of the trip.

Our Stay in the Princess Amelia Anniversary Suite
We stayed in the Princess Amelia Anniversary Suite, and it was truly something special. The suite sits on the second floor of the main house and takes its name from Princess Amelia, the island’s namesake, perfectly matching the romance and history the name suggests.

The suite centers around a stunning four poster king-size bed, paired with antique furnishings and a beautiful fireplace that instantly creates a cozy, intimate feel. Soft lighting and thoughtful design details add to the timeless feel of the room.

The private bathroom includes a walk-in shower, plush bathrobes, and high-end toiletries that elevate the experience.

One of our favorite features was the shared balcony just outside the room, where garden views and the surrounding historic neighborhood set a peaceful scene. It was the perfect spot for a quiet morning coffee.

Just outside the suite is a convenient beverage station stocked with water, coffee, hot chocolate, and other drinks, which made grabbing a quick refresh easy without heading downstairs.
